Miller Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Reverend Richard Corley Massey. Rev. Massey set up this scholarship for African American high school seniors in recognition of the labors of their enslaved ancestors. Rev. Massey was nothing if not one of the most humble men I've ever known. He believed many of us disproportionally benefitted from slave labor. As one of those who benefitted, he wanted to give something back to their descendants who need help going to college.
He named the scholarship after two African Americans who worked tirelessly in their community in Lancaster County, South Carolina. Rev. John C. and Queen Miller.
Applicants must complete an application as well as an essay. For more information including deadlines, visit the scholarship application link.
